A hacktivist named the j35t3r took out all of WBC’s websites in March through…
UPDATE: I’VE JUST BEEN TOLD BY J35T3R THAT HE DOES NOT USE A DDOS ATTACK FOR HIS HACKTIVISM. WE WILL BE COMMUNICATING A BIT AND I WILL BE DOING MORE RESEARCH OVER GOOGLE TO MAKE SURE I GET THIS RIGHT.
More updates soon.
In the meantime, here is a link to an article where J35T3R discusses his self-created Xerxes system in more detail. Since I know next to nothing about computers, it may take me a couple hours to figure this out. Be back soon! I have too much respect for what J35T3R does to get this wrong.

For folks who come here regularly, you know we’ve been following The j35t3r’s mini war with Westboro Baptist Church. A couple of months ago he knocked out all of their websites. Last time we checked on march 25th, they were still down. http://bit.ly/elS12q
It had been awhile since I wrote a post about this, so I stopped by the site Down for Everyone or Just Me to see if anything had changed. I was shocked to see that WBC is back up and running! I suppose all good things must come to an end eventually. Then I realized I had stopped keeping track of the amount of downtime. My assumption had been that they were permanently down for the count, so I’d gotten lazy about updating.
I decided to reach out to J35t3r on Twitter. I wanted to make sure the amount of down time was correct and see if there was anything else he had to say.
J35t3r responded quickly. Final count? WBC was offline from 21st of March until the 7th of April. That’s 18 days of blissful, hate free internet. 🙂
J35t3r says that he’s working on phase two. I wish him the best, and will be eagerly watching.
